Please let me know if your key FOB still works after enform expiration. I just spoke to the dealer and he says it won't since the key FOB and Enform are integretated together - i found it to be strange so greatly appreciate if you can confirm

I agree. Hate to pay $225 every year just to be able to remote start a few cold days in a year - this is really pissed me off and may not buy another Lexus again

For Canadians, neither the Enform nor the Remote Fob will work to remote start the NX.

There is however, an aftermarket device from iDatalink that will allow you to use the factory fob. This is the same module most aftermarket brands (Compustar, Viper, etc.) will use to bypass the factory system. The same module works for the 3rd generation IS. There is a good thread about this in the IS forum:

there's another thread about this where a subscription expired, but the FOB remote start still worked, but that stopped working after a month. Technically, there's no reason it has to be this way, just a decision on Lexus' part.

What year is your car?

One interesting thing that I came across that I am not sure how many people know , after having the Enform Remote activated, you can then use Key FOB to also remotely start your vehicle. It is funny Lexus does not really mention this or promote it.

You simply press the "Lock" button three times and on the third press you just hold the button down until you see the lights flash an additional time. The car will then start a few seconds later.

Comes in handy now and then when you don't want to use the phone app. So far I have tested it up to 50-60 feet away and it has worked without issue.

Here is an actual Lexus link that explains it as well...enjoy...

My neighbor just just bought a 2016 NX without Nav. No one mentioned the remote start at the dealer. Is it only for cars equipped with navigation?
I thought it was a standard feature.

I don't believe it's dependent on Nav. As long as they have the enform trial for a year, they should be fine. Unless you're in Canada, then no cars get the factory remote start. But if in the US, it should be fine

I'm sure it has the trial Enform. It's a new car in the US. She should be good then. Thanks.

Remember though, the dealer has to "connect" your vehicle to your enform app/subscription. Mine did this at time of delivery. If they didn't do this for your friend, I'd have her call and ask to speak to a delivery specialist to set that up

I can confirm that the key fob start does not work after the Enform subscription expires. Mine just expired last week.

I found from me personal experience with using the FOB that you have to hit the "lock" button pretty quick the 1st 2 times before holding it for the 3rd time to get it to work. I tried doing it slower, like about 1 second in between presses and it wouldn't work that way.

Maybe someone without ENFORM can test it, or someone at a dealership with one that doesn't have ENFORM can test there.

I have a 2016 Ls 460 and have not activated Lexus Enform Remote. I tried srating my car with the key fob and it works perfectly. I'm also disappointed with the dealership, they failed to mention this feature nor did they provide any details about the Remote App being available for the first year at no cost.

At the time of purchase, did they provide you a form to fill out that asked for your email address and make a password with a couple security questions?
There's a high probability that your dealer already activated your Enform subscription since the key fob starter doesn't work without an active subscription.

Any solution for Lexus NX300h remote start for owner outside US? Fortin and idatalink don't have NX300h in their compatible car list. Their solutions works on NX200t only. So, anyone have any aftermarket Remote Start installed in their NX300h and it works with Key Fob(3 push start)? Thanks!

Smile Lexus RX 350 FSport 2016 Manual Remote Start works!!!

I read the message from DenM54 , and followed exactly the same sequence as per his statement below:

"You simply press the "Lock" button three times and on the third press you just hold the button down until you see the lights flash an additional time. The car will then start a few seconds later."

It worked on my GX460 2016 Luxury, and RX 350 FSport Full Package. But there is one caveat to that though, that after 2 consecutive tries of KEY FOB remote start, it won't let you do it again UNTIL AFTER you have physically entered the vehicle. And the FOB remote start only starts the vehicle for less than or equal to 10 minutes each time only. This behavior works exactly the same as Lexus Enform Remote Start app on smart phones (2 consecutive tries ONLY, and each only roughly for about 10 minutes duration).

I think if there is a way to disconnect the car's cell service prior to expiration, they can't send a kill signal to disable the feature.

Maybe it is as simple as removing a SIM card.
