Lexus NX or Competitors? (Merged Threads)

You could...but then you have a big roof carrier on top of your vehicle which is a PITA. You need a rack, it's ugly, you have to store it somewhere when you're not using it, when you get to your destination you have to worry about height the whole time you're there, etc. I want to put all my luggage inside my car...which is why I bought an SUV for trips over a car. You can put a roof carrier on a car too.
A place to put them when not using - a garage lol
Ride Height - You're still lower than the average 4x4 truck, so you'll fit anywhere
What I'm trying to say is these shouldn't be enough to sway a decision. however, to each their own.

Lexus NX vs. MB GLK
So what are your guys' thoughts on the comparison between the NX and the GLK? They are similarly priced and sized. In reliability Lexus is the winner as a brand but then again who can predict the inline 4 turbo reliability at this point. However MB is right up there in reliability rankings according to JD Powers. I do like the boxy styling of the GLK but they may be redesigning the vehicle and changing the name to the GLC for 2016 MY according to what I'v read online.

Tough call. They both offer pro's and cons. As with all decisions like this it comes down to a personal choice.
The V6 and 7 speed is a nice combination but the GLK's exterior styling wasn't my cup of tea. The interior refresh for 2013 was nice though.

Yeah you guys do have a good point about reliability lol Lexus is definitely the benchmark in reliability. Also I'm more favored to the NX due to the increased MPG compared to the MB especially when comparing diesel vs premium gas.

Appearance - Who cares, it utility and temporary

As for the garage, at home I don't have room for anything in the garage but a car.
Of course utility is a consideration when buying a utility vehicle. If I didntt have to carry stuff and people...I'd buy a car

Troy, as you stated, the GLK is due for a full makeover and hopefully MB adds an injection of luxury and refinement the current gen is lacking in this class. Powertrain is top notch though.

NX should win in quality.
GLK should win driving feeling.
Actually GLK is rear wheel based SUV, and NX is forward wheel drive based SUV. There is no comparison between them except the size.

That keeps coming up for whatever reason, but the GLA isn't in the same class as the NX. It's more like a hatchback since it's about a foot shorter. The GLK isn't even quite as long as the NX.
I watched a guy in front of me throw around his GLK on our back roads, I was pretty damn impressed. Then I built one on the configurator and realized it starts to get into Macan type money 'til you get it all loaded up.
