Toyota locks the ECU, so no tuning. Exhaust will not require tuning.

To my knowledge there are no performance options out for this car yet, but I've been keeping my eyes open.

It is no different than other Toyotas. They just don't want you messing with fuel trims.

The lack of mods is actually why I got away from wanting the IS-F. I went with the camaro because of the larger amount of mod-ability (and lets be honest...the LSx engine sounds great). I'm currently putting down about 440rwhp to the ground and ~500 at the crank. I have a shop out here that is working with me to put together a 515rwhp (530rwhp on an aggressive tune) (~590-600hp at the crank) cam/gears/heads build in the next year or so. I want to get this car into the low 11s.

Stuff will come out for the NX in time, but they will be generic mods.

You can always go for a custom exhaust. Happy with the custom Magnaflow axle back bolt-on my local performance installer built on my IS before bolt-ons were starting to be available many months after.

Gotta worry though, with a 4 cylinder, you are going to get that bellowing and overall gross 4 cylinder sound. Gonna need a resonator or a back pressure pipe in order to give the car some growl instead.

I know a couple of the guys at ARK. Wonder if they have anything up their sleeves, though I don't think your'e going to see many AWD NXs out there.

The best bang for the buck will be intake, chip to bring boost up and turbo lag down, and exhaust, Would love to see a chip maker come out with something for the NX!

Chips are very old school....I don't even think anyone does them anymore. Most were voodoo crap anyways.

IMO...your main mods will be intake/exhaust and then start going for the suspension. You'll want a tower/tunnel brace in order to deal with the body roll. Furthermore, you will want to consider a bigger brake kit in order to allow you more stopping for the weight.

I should clarify. Chip tuning, inclusive of Flash capable units as well.
On a turbo model, that will help everything from Boost. Air/Fuel Reg, and change the boost band to rid of turbo lag.

You'd have to get an entirely aftermarket ECU in order to get tuning to work. And that point, I don't know how much play there is in the mapping of the car. Best way to get more boost, is to put a better turbo on it. You could run a twin turbo setup on this, but you'd have to have some way to tune it, and also reconfigure the AWD to run RWD bias as opposed to the current FWD bias.

EDIT: A twin setup would be hard given the lack of space under the hood. Perhaps if you ran it from behind the back, or did a rear turbo? But the pressure losses from front to back can be severe and you will probably gain lag....

I won't know...probably not doing much mods to this car. I break too many parts on the other car. lol
