News from the front lines on HUD
I have an NX 300h and live in Canada. I noticed in the owners manual (and on the heads up display settings) that the HUD can display the speed limit of the road you're on. But no matter what I did, I never saw the speed limit displayed. Until, that is, today, when I drove to the US. As soon as I crossed the border and switched the HUD to MPH from KPH, up popped the speed limit for about 10 seconds. And then again whenever the speed limit changed. Very clever. When I go back to Canada, I tried switching between MPH and KPH but the speed limit did not display, in this country, on either setting. A bit of a bummer.

Maybe it's a regional setting. I'll have to see if the Australian version does it, it seems to be a nice feature, especially in urban areas where the speed limit seems to change non-stop.
It's interesting in Australia, that Lexus vehicles will sound speed camera/red light camera location alarms via the NAV system, whereas German brands do not.

In the navigation, does the speed limit display for Canadian roads? I noticed the 2014 IS navi did not, but an update for the 2015 IS does. I assume the information for limits shown in the HUD would be provided by the navi.

Canada as afterthought
The speed limit displays on the Nav system in both countries. It only appears on HUD in the US when set to MPH. But not on HUD in Canada under any circumstances

Yes, on the 7" Nav display, speed limit shows on Canadian roads.
