Default AWD or FWD? Sunroof headroom difference?

Hi guys

I will be getting the NX200t F sport soon, I can't decide on the AWD or FWD model, I live in Taiwan, so we don't get any snow here, but rain can be crazy during typhoon season, and I am doing mostly city driving.

Also the AWD NX in Taiwan comes with the sunroof or panorama roof, the FWD NX doesn't have one, we test drove the AWD NX with panorama roof, my wife thinks the headroom is tight, (she sits at the back with our one year old), dealer doesn't have any FWD NX available for us to compare the headroom difference, does anyone know the headroom difference between no roof, sunroof and panorama roof NX? does sunroof decrease headroom significantly?

thank you guys in advance! I am looking forward to join the NX family!

Welcome to the forum! Not sure about the panoroof since the N.A. market doesn't get it so here are the specs for the sunroof/no sunroof.

Front Headroom mm (in.) 970.8 (38.22), With Sunroof: 950.3 (37.41)

Rear Headroom mm (in.) 968.4 (38.13), With Sunroof: 967.2 (38.08)

EDIT: Found this from a European brochure: http://www.lexus-bulgaria.bg/img/Lex...13-1319928.pdf

When specified with a sunroof the front headroom figure is 950 and when specified with a panoramic roof it is 976.
When specified with a sunroof the rear headroom figure is 967 and when specified with a panoramic roof it is 938.

In short, yes, it's tight in the back with the panoramic roof. You lose 30mm compared to with or without the sunroof. So looks like you'll be fine with either the sunroof option or none, but not the panoramic roof.

Wow thank you for the info mr2!!
I didn't realize the panorama roof NX I testdrove actually has increased front headroom, I am 6'1, do you think NX with regular sunroof has sufficient headroom for me?
I hope my dealer has one for me to test the height soon!

Also what's your view on Awd vs fwd?

Some owners your height have stated they had no issues with the headroom in their sunroof equipped NX. To test for yourself, go back in the panoramic roof NX and raise the seat about 2.5 cm.

AWD consumes about 5% more fuel as a negative, but is the better choice if you drive aggressively especially in standing starts as there is no torque steer. But ultimately, much of the traction lies on the tires.

Good luck with you choice. Either way, can't go wrong.

I am in the USA but I am also 6'1" tall, and a "big guy" as well. The 300h we have is for my wife, but I have driven it a few times now, I love it and don't feel cramped at all in any way. Ours is the AWD version with the sunroof.

Post About the same for 2022 not less

There are varying accounts of the headroom with and without the Moonroof and with and without the Panoramic Roof

NX 2021 - without Moonroof 38.22 inches with Moonroof 37.41 inches (from ClubLexus ) other sources say 38.0 with Moonroof

NX 2022 - One source says 0.9inches more than 2021 NX
Other sources 38.3 inches without Moonroof and 38.0 inches with Moonroof. Also, the Panorama roof an additional 1.0 inches less.

YMMV,

Based on the Dimensions there Panorama roof should be the same as the moonroof of the 2021.

The moonroof should give more headroom in comparison to 2021.
