Default Interior Sound Adjustment?

Hey all,

New member and owner here.

I remember watching reviews for the 200t f sport and most of them mentioned that you can adjust how loud the fabricated sound can be in the cabin. For the life of me, I cannot find this 'button' at all. I have 200t f sport. Did they omit this from the US models?

Hi welcome to the forum and congrats on your new NX. It's definitely on the US F Sport model. It's to the right of the steering wheel on the lower part of the dash.

Ah k, will take a look at that the next time I get the chance! Thank you much!

Thanks for the welcome as well. I've been lurking the past few weeks debating on whether or not to pull the trigger on one and well, here we are.

Well, glad you got the NX. Don't forget to post pics in the sticky thread and post in the new members thread.

Speaking of which, here's the ASC (Active Sound Control) ****'s location.

Enjoy!

I just purchased a CDN Fsport 2 model and it does not have this Active Sound Control? There is a blank cover where the volume switch should have been.

I'm not sure if that's really a bad thing though...why have something that makes the interior louder. Turbo-4 is always going to sound like a turbo-4, so why not enjoy the quietness.

IMO, the ASC is useless. I've tried it and I can not hear any discernible difference between it on or off.

Can someone else who's used it chime in and give their opinion?

Just in case, I'm doing something wrong. Or maybe mine is broken.

Hi the ASC generates sound base on rpm and also dependant on the drive mode you have selected. In normal mode it sounds very soft and only comes on above 2800 to 3000k revs. However in sports mode if is clearly audible.I usually have mine mid way on the dial.

The best way to enjoy it is to have it in sports mode and drive it at higher revs.

Man I swear I've tried everything...it doesn't work in my car. Or maybe I'm going deaf.

Fake engine noise, heh. As bad as some VW's that use a plastic tube to bring engine noise from the engine compartment to the passenger compartment.

It works better if you in Sport. I leave it on / max and when I switch it to Sport its very noticeable.

Maybe you are not sensitive or its really faulty. Switch to manual and sports mode hold rev steady at 3 to 4k rpm and toggle the ASC on and off. That should be a good test to confirm if it is faulty.

At least pipe from engine bay is engine noise from the engine...ASC is just some engine soundtrack being played through the speakers, which I consider is worse.
