The Unofficial Aftermarket Wheel Thread

tsw wheels arent top o line...whats your priceline?
I have bbs wheels on my offroad truck and they are junk for foke chrome plating but decent in durability. I have enkei wheels on a sleeper car and they are awesome. If I was to buy aftermarket rims for the nx, I would be looking at sizes/weight. 20's would be awesome but only if they weighed similar to factory 18's. weight of tire/rim combo has huge effect on performance.

Thanks guys! The first wheel will look slightly darker in real world, here' s a pic in real world. TSW calls it hyper silver, a slightly darker shade of silver.
@d8168055 - did you mean the wheel will be 0.3" closer to the fender comparing to OEM 18" wheels (18x7.5 +35)? Suspension-wise, 0.7" closer, will I have to worry about clearance?
Thanks for the info!!

Nice wheels oldwineguy! I was looking at Enkei Raijin in 19inch for a long time, very similar design to yours.
OK, since many peeps seems to like the darker version, how about a matt black version of the previous pic#1. So now I'm struggling between these 3:
By the way, the reason why I'm looking at TSW's because I could get them brand new on a really really good discount. I've been looking at other brands too, BBS, Enkei, and a few others on Tirerack/eBay/Amazon. But I don't have much choice in 19" with 8 or 8.5" wide and offset +35 to 40. My goal is to keep the car classier, not sportier (not too thin of a sidewall, not stretched tires, not too much offset for fender flush, etc...) as I don't have the F-sport front end. My original intention of getting wheels was to fit a 245 tires for better braking. I would have way more choices in 18's, but very limited tire choices. 19 inches I'm quite limited to wheels, but much more tire choices. So far, it's been quite a struggle for me. Thanks for helping me out!!

This is so very subjective as it really depends on personal preference. I am not a fan of the black rims and I think they would be harder to keep looking clean. I do like the darker grays like they used on the third generation RX f-sports (not sure what wheels they use on current RX F-sport).
The black is is definitely more unique so it's really up to what you think you would like. That just wouldn't be my choice, although I do think a Nebula Gray or even Matador Red would be able to pull it off better than most colors.

lol! This made my day. Thanks! Im so happy with this upgrade. Debating on getting the RS-R springs to drop it down a bit. There wasnt much of a difference also in the ride. I was told it might get a bit rougher but it feels the same.

By the way, has anyone used the RS-R T532D or Tanabe NF210 - TNF196?
Will changing the coil springs mess up my suspension in the long run? I read it somewhere but couldn't find it anymore. Thanks guys

Don't mess with this NX! Looks great!
As for the springs, I've used RSR Downs on the IS and RCF and the result is 95% as comfortable as stock. The 5% difference comes down to the vehicles feeling a little more bouncy on bumps ("school bus" syndrome) but initial bump impact is similar. Tanabe's are typically softer so if you're looking at softest ride, compare the spring rates - lowest is softer (kg/mm).

My pleasure. Always great to see an NX at its sharpest! For the springs, see my Edit above, or here's the copy/paste and additional comments:

As for messing up your suspension, the long-term impacts are minimal with moderate lowering springs like RSR Downs. Their drop is designed to minimally impact the OEM suspension geometry and its wear though once you do install them, it's recommended to get an alignment done to set them back to factory specs since some of the parameters like camber will be slightly off. Enjoy!
