Default ASC Switch - Adding

Hello. Just taken delivery of my brand new f-sport NX.
While exploring, I noticed that while I do not have the control dial for the ASC function, (Malaysian NXs do not come with this available), there ARE wires running to the dummy switch. There are about 6 wires and a connector that are just held in place behind the dummy blank switch. What do you guys think? If I manage to get my hands on an ASC switch and plug that connector into it, will I get the ASC function? BTW, my car came with the Mark Levinson system.

Congratulations and welcome to the forum!

I'll let others chime in on the your question, but if it's something I really wanted, I'd buy the switch and try it if it's plug and play. Good luck!

With 6 wires running to the dummy switch, that is a good sign as it might probably work.

The actual ASC is like this -- it has 6 pins.

And it costs 4930yens if you buy from ls-japan in case if this part is not available in Malaysia. The only issue is you need someone in Japan to buy this for you as they don't accept international orders.

Let us know how things go.

Wow... Thats EXACTLY what the connector looks like it will fit into.
Hmmm, I might know someone who can help me out.

Or, do you know if any of the US based Lexus dealers might sell it to me? I've bought stuff from "lexus of north miami" on ebay before...

i feel that this functionality is not a great feature. i guess i was expecting much more. i don't see much difference if its on or off. mines came with the car and i dont really here the difference.

i'd rather have the folding seat feature as my previous MB GL.

anyways im gonna look underneath and see if i can pull it out for comparison.

Ok, finally managed to get my hands on a switch... and no go.
The light turns on as I turn the dial upward, but I don't hear any sound difference.
I was testing in Sport S+ mode and was accelerating up to around 50-60 kmh.

One review I watched said it was most noticeable in Sport mode vs regular mode so sounds like you definitely should have noticed if it was working. Sorry it didn't work out.

Maybe the other end of the wire requires some sort of sensor or mic that is also missing? You might try to find a wiring schematic to see where it goes.

Can someone with that functionality in your car please do me a favour? Is the ASC active when the car is stationary? If so, would you be able to put your ear to the door speakers (or anywhere else) to see if the sound is coming from the sound system, or a dedicated speaker hidden somewhere?
Much appreciate your help...

I don't hear much of a difference with ASC on or off. So I can't even tell where the sound would come from.
