Bought a F Sport Series 2 in Nebula Grey not even 3 months ago and all the black plastic window trim is already full of scratches, way more than what seem normal for a brand new car. My previous car (A4) was 7 years old when I traded it for the NX, and the similar trim looked new.

Anyone else noticed this?

Hi. Welcome to the forum.

If you're referring to the high-shine black plastic trim in the front door corner, b-pillar, rear door corner, and tail lights, yes it is a little delicate. Mine is fine but I'm accustomed to this from past Lexus vehicles with similar trim.

To prevent further fine scratches, use a soft snow brush and minimise hard contact. Wash the vehicle with extra care on those parts by rinsing all dirt and passing a clean mitt only once with minimal effort.

To restore some of the fine scratches, I've used Mother's micro-polishing glaze with some success on past Lexus vehicles. Of course, if you proceed, try it in an inconspicuous area first. You can get this at Canadian Tire.

Thanks for the information! And yes, I'm referring to the trim pieces you mentioned, my guess is that they got scratched washing the car (never even thought that a snow brush could do that but it's a good point). I'll be more careful in the future, and will also mention it to the dealership, I'm still surprised at how delicate they are, they already look pretty worn when looking up close (I'll try to post pictures soon)

Ha, not a bad idea! I'll have to find a good touch less car wash in my area too.
