Default Engine ON then straight to Engine Off w/Accesories

Is there a way of going from engine on to turning it off but keeping it in accessories mode?

I want to drive, park (and wait for someone), then turn the engine off, but keep the radio on. I know I can just push the start button again to get to acc mode, but then that just seems to be a pain. I saw references to putting the gear in neutral and shutting off the engine, but I'd prefer not to go that route.

I haven't tried this in the NX as haven't taken possession yet. In the IS, I turn the engine off first, then put it on park. Very useful when on a call, as it leave the hands free mode on, without switching the call to the phone.

yeah, that's one of the suggestions I read about today - not sure I want to start training myself to do it that way

Yes, that is the answer, at least the only one I know. Turn off the car while in Drive and then move to Park.

My Honda Ody is the same.
