NX Running Boards (Merged Threads)

one thing about the OEM (probably any of the flat ones) running boards is that they're loud in certain situations with rain and wet roads
but they're used often by my granddaughter to hop in and out of the car

I have the OEM ones. Had to get them imported from Australia as local Lexus here doesn't sell accessories.
Installed them myself.
Yes, a little noisy on wet roads, as the water spray from the tires hit them and they resonate, but I covered the underside with expanding foam and thats got rid of that issue somewhat.
The main purpose I got them was to stop road dirt and grime getting up inbetween the door and car body. They way the door is designed, there is a large gap below the rubber seal between the body and door that can get covered with dirt and becomes very obvious when you open the door to see a large strip of dirt clinging to the bottom of your door.

I agree. I am 5'11 and I think exiting vehicle would be problematic with boards plus more prone to soiled pant legs. They do look really low to the ground.

I checked the ground clearance before and after and honestly, there is no change. Why I say that is because without the running boards, the lowest point of the car is a center exhaust box right in the middle. With the running boards installed, they sit at the exact height of that exhaust box.

Glad I found this thread. They look super great. I wanted to get them for my wife's NX for the reason of her not "sliding" out of the seat and eventually wearing the side bolster of the seats. This way she can put her foot down and lift up, rather than sliding...lol It's safe to assume that these would fit the 2018 right with the above part number: PZQ44-42100
I can't imagine paying someone to install these. Most of this stuff is really straight forward. I found them online for about $500 which is decent. I'm really liking that body side moulding strip too... kinda breaks up the plain doors.

Running Boards dealer installed
my wife is 5ft tall so they really help her put the child seat in and out of the car. A plus is that they look great!! They also make it a lot easier to put things on the roof racks.
