I just updated my original posting for this thread with the possibility of the 2016 NXs having wedge-type bulbs instead of the 2015 NX festoon-type bulbs.

for the cargo, you probably want something with more than 5 LED's

Does the light in the cargo area have an individual ON/OFF switch? If the switch is there, I doubt if it is a wedge-type bulb. It would be festoon-type.

check an earlier reply. PHATM3 has a 2016 and it's a wedge. Can't tell if there's a switch on his from the pictures.

Don't know why they switched to the wedge.

Am I missing something? How does the type of bulb dictate the availability of a switch?

This is just my experience with the way Lexus designs the interior lighting. So far I haven't seen one light with a switch that is of 168/192 style (single head). For the festoon style bulb, there is a metal bar that toggles between on and off of a switch. Hope it clarifies the confusion.

The sun visors use the wedge-type 175's (same architecture as the 168/192's) in the vanity mirrors. These are controlled by a manual switch that the user turns on and off. I've replaced those OEM incandescents with LEDs in my visors.

Ah, I forgot about the vanity mirrors and they are indeed controlled by the shutter that turns the light on and off. I also replaced those with LEDs in both IS and RX.

But I haven't seen one light with a distinct physical switch inside Lexus that has the wedge type light bulb. They are all festoon style (eg. in the trunk of 3RX and 2IS)

Hi all,

I have a 2016 NX and the cargo lights are T10 type bulbs. Here's a photo with the cover removed and the bulb swapped out for the new LED I installed. The rocker switch is held in by the cover, so it is not shown in this photo.
