So i stopped by at the dealer for the 5k oil change and asked if they can change the signal flashes 4 times instead of 3 (default) when i turn half way. (#36 on the personalized form). They said there is no way for them to do that. I pulled out the form to show them. They still had no idea how to do that for the nx. They took my number down and said will call me back but i doubt that they will call back.
Have anyone had this done before?
Also, do you know how to check oil life? i remember i saw the lcd shows % of oil life but i don't know how to get to it now.
I would call another dealer if they are close to you. You might want to speak with the service manager at the original place as they should know how to make the change.
I know the US version of the NX, I have the 300h, does not have % indicator for oil life. All that is available is the count down mileage "timer" until your next service is needed. By default, and I'm not sure if it can be changed or not, it is 10,000 miles.
As for the dealer not being able to make that simple change, I would contact Lexus corporate and report them, that is just nonsense, all dealers should know how to do that, or be able to get that information quickly from a central database.
I had this changed (to four lane-change flashes) by my dealer before I even drove it off their lot.
I've since obtained the Carista app that allows me to change all the other settings myself, which I have done to a few other settings including bumping up the flashes to five.
However, you don't have to buy their expensive OBDII adapter. I bought one on Amazon for USD$9.00 and it works great! ... http://amzn.com/B00AAOOQJC
on Amazon for $10. No need to buy an expensive device.
I like that the Carista app can give you all of your current settings to store elsewhere (a file on your computer or print out on paper). I find this useful so that I can see what I've changed and to what value.
