Default 16 NX200t FSport question

Hey guys. This is my first post. I just got my NX on Tuesday. Does anyone have a NX 200t FSport with premium package? When I built the truck online it says the Premium PKG comes with ventilated seats. Mine didnt come with them. Just heated. And also no rain sensing wipers. Is it supposed to come with the ventilated seats and auto wipers? Also, I did some googling and I was reading about the video in motion and video while stationary. I plan on hooking up my Iphone to watch videos in the truck. I have the HDMI to lightning converter, hdmi to composite, and composite to 3.5mm jack. So that should allow me to mirror my iphone to the screen in the truck. As far as a "hack" for the video in motion, is there a hack that I can do to enable it or do I have to buy that bypass piece they sell? This is the piece I saw :

Is there an easier way to do it?

I can answer the ventilated seats question: in the F-Sport ventilated seats are not an option in the U.S. (and maybe other places). No one seems to have a convincing answer as to why.

There's been some discussion about the ventilated front seats being absent on F-Sport models. We don't get this in North America. A few people said that their dealers told them that the ventilated front seats can't come with the faux leather F-Sport seats. In order to get ventilated seats you need the real leather that comes in non-FSport.

As for the rain-sensing wipers - I think that all depends on what your packages include. Here in Canada, we get them on our F-Sport package (which comes very loaded in 2015, but less so in 2016).

Ventilated seats are one for the useless column. Interesting when you first feel the puff of wind on the backside but seriously they offer no cooling. It's 43c in Sydney and I switched them off because they just don't work.

I beg to differ. Many times in my other vehicles--when it's very hot out--I can drive for a half-hour and end up with a sweaty back (and wet shirt). In my NX, I've yet to get sweaty when using the ventilated seats.

However, I've discovered that when the lumbar support if fully inflated, it seems to block the flow of ventilated air up the back of the seat.

Similar situation on the NuLuxe on the '13 ES 300h I had, vented not available, but in '14, they became available on the NuLuxe. No idea why the process would be more difficult than on leather, so maybe it's just a supplier issue. This was in a R&T issue on the NX, not sure why but injection may affect how they could be ventilated:

"The F Sport package's sport seats are formed by injecting liquid foam into their skins instead of wrapping the hides around the foam, thus eliminating those hard spots you commonly find on sport-seat bolsters from tightly-stretched leather."

Ours work. We use them all the time in hot weather. Perhaps yours are broken?

Nope, it isn't broke. Lexus leather breaths so well I have never have a sweaty back. I suppose the vinyl may be a different issue.

Yes you feel the air but subjectively can't convince myself the seat is cooler.

That is why they are not called, "Seat Cooling". They don't cool the seats, they inject air (ventilation) onto your body surface (back of legs and back) to help avoid sweat. Hence, the name, "Ventilated Seats".

That's my point exactly.

The Lexus system is an evaporative cooling system. It uses fans built into the seat to circulate cabin air. With this option, you may be able to control the fan level, but not the temperature of the air that comes out of the seat perforations.

Cooled seats such as those found in the Lincoln MKZ and Kia Optima use a thermal engine that is separate from the vehicle’s climate control system to cool the air first, then circulate it through the seatback and cushion.

Quality perforated leather has the same evaporative effect through air pockets in the leather and oerforations. Vinyl does not have this quality regardless of what you call it or market it as. That's why leather is so expensive. Remember it used to be the breathing skin of a cow.

On vinyl seats the evaporative system may be of some use but totally useless on a leather seat. On the other hand, a true cooling system like in a Kia!, is effective regardless of the seats material.

Count me in the "my ventilated seats work very well" column. My many passengers over the last year have commented that they love it and want the feature on their next car.

NuLuxe has nothing to do with seat ventilation. That was something someone came up with to justify why IS F-sport didn't have ventilated seats. Sole reason why NX doesn't have ventilated seats and 360 camera in US is cost cutting and maximizing profits, end of the story. After few years down the road they will include it in Premium package just like they did with IS, ES and all of the others. To me it looks like a strategy to make more money by being able to get away with some deleted features when the model is brand new in and high in demand. Once it cools down they add most of those features for cheap change price adjustment.

I feel sorry for OP being getting deceived by inaccurate online content. Lexus website has lots of mistakes and its not the first time they suggest some feature exists while in reality you cant have it or find the dealer that has it and even vice versa when some features were not even included on the website but they were present in a vehicle.

BTW not all the ventilated seats are created equal just like heated seats. On cheaper cars don't expect them to work as they would work on more expensive models. I didn't try it in NX but I wouldn't be surprised that lumbar cuts off airflow due to lack of additional ventilation paths. GS features one of the better seat ventilation system in the industry but it costs more while LS and LX feature real AC cooled front seats and those two cost even more than GS

Yeah, you must've read it in this forum. A few of us notice that when the lumbar is fully inflated, the ventilation doesn't reach your back—it stays on your hammies.
