USB at .8 amps
When I'm driving, I'm working. But I can't keep my phone charged up because the USB doesn't throw enough amps. 2 questions ...
1. Are the 2 USB's in the center console tied to the entertainment system? Or are they just providing power?
2. Are there modifications that can be done to bring the USB up to at least 1.2 amps?
Any help would be appreciated.
Just a note, had my 5000 mile service today at Lexus of Louisville KY and asked them these questions and they couldn't answer either. They directed me to a "shop" that did stereo system modifications.
Other than this, I love the car.

If you want higher current you can buy those cigarette to USB things and charge your phone through there.

I use this in my NX. It's dual USB port, 4.8 amps, which means 2.4 amps per port. It costs only USD$7.99 on Amazon. It will charge two iPads at same time at full charging power.

Like it's been mentioned the USB is more for music, not charging. I would be skeptical of some of these chargers claiming such a high output and actually delivering. I got a Blackberry car charger that does put out what it claims and it's about $10 through Amazon. That of course doesn't work if you have an iPhone.

You need to read the max current your phone can take, a lot of newer phones have "Quick Charge".
