Yes, same - I tried adjusting the height at which the door closes too, but nothing seemed to help. I reached out to my local dealer but they want $150+ just to diagnose it. It does seem like the powered cylinder/actuator tube is working through its normal motion. I even crept it down inch by inch to try to see what is happening, lubricating the rubber bumpers inside the door perimeter - but nothing worked.

We cannot be the first folks to run into this (:

The sound from @ACP84 video sounds like just the latching mechanism since it's heard at the very end, while sound from @raynx video sounds like a combination of actuator tube and the latching mechanism.
Does it make the sound when opening the hatch (i.e. during unlatching)?

Opening is perfect, and close is perfect until just before it does its latching/secure. It's bizarre - when I saw @ACP84 post I was hoping someone else was further down the solution trail lol

So far after spraying the wd 40 dry lubricant on the actuator tube the noise has gone away and hasnt come back since, its been a few days now. It may be fixed finally.

I just bought and sprayed the inside of the actuator with WD-40 Specialist 2209 Dirt & Dust Resistant Dry Lube PTFE Spray and it closed without noise for the first time! Appreciate you sharing brother, hopefully this does the trick!

Mine was great for about 24 hours, then it did it again (mind you, much less noise) as the temperature rose this afternoon. I think the issue is temperature related. (i.e. for me, it occurs when the outside temperature is warmer) I sprayed it again and although it helps, doesn't completely eliminate on the warmer days.

Took mine to dealer with the video, they're going to replace the actuators under my extended warranty.

I can also confirm that the noise on mine is slightly back as well, although definitely not as bad

Default Power tailgate noise

A few weeks ago I exchanged my '18 CT for a '18 NX 300h. Super happy with the car overall, but the power tailgate is driving me up the wall. Almost everytime I use it, it makes a screeching sound and most of the time it'll even halt (as if it 'thinks' something is blocking the tailgate from going further) once or several times while opening or closing.

I looked around online and found some info (including here on club Lexus etc.) pointing towards lubrication (also seems obvious), so I liberally applied Super lube around the rubber ring on the tailgate arms, but it has yet to have any meaningful affect. I am now thinking the lubrication needs to happen more inside the arms themselves. Is it safe to spray something like WD-40 Lithium spray inside? I can remove the rubber ring to point the spray inwards, but I am unsure of the risks. Or should I take another approach? Any help is greatly appreciated!

Just lube it with something non conductive, it will be fine.

Heres a youtube video about your exact problem

Yeah, unfortunately that has little to no effect. It seems to need lubrication further inside. At least, that is the only thing I can think of.

I had the same issue (millage apr. 60k km), occasionally the tailgate doesn't open from first try or needs several attempts to close.
Eventually my tailgate stopped in the middle when tried to open and goes neither up nor down.

It turned out that right actuator stopped to work. Fortunately for me I have the Lx Relax so the repair was for free (they replaced both sides).

Default Lift gate issue

I find I have to hold the button longer than expected to get the gate to close.
