Headlights on auto, front fog light turned off but seems like fog light is lit whenever headlamp is on- but if I turn on the fogs , the front fog lights get even brighter. Does that sound right? I swear the fog lights when turned off does not lit when headlights are on. or I can be wrong!

I think what your seeing are the different sets of lights. The running lights are just below the headlights and I think those are usually on. The fog lights are another set of LED much lower on the bumper controlled by the dial on the stalk

When the fog lights (very low in the body work on each side) are on there will be an additional indicator light showing on the instrument panel (green light, shaped like a headlight but with a slash through the projecting "rays"). The fog lights also have a cornering light component that turns on as you slow and turn the wheel or engage the turn signal. Also on in reverse. They fade out after the turn.

I noticed this morning that when I switched my headlights to auto before pulling out of my garage that my headlights where on, my daytime running lights and my driver's side fog light although they were set to off. I didn't think that made any sense so I turned them both on, both came on then turned them off to the one staying on. I shuffled through my light options, then the passenger's side only came on, turned it all off and back on then finally had no fog lights. What gives? Does my new car do this and I don't know why? I usually turn my drls off when shutting down my car as my sunshade turns my lights on when in auto when not needed. My old IS didn't do this and I miss it.

You might want to review the manual on cornering lights. They activate in dark conditions below 25 mph in any turn of the wheel, and they also come on with a turn while in reverse.
