AC Re-circulate after Restart

My AC always go back to recirculate after a restart? Is that normal? I prefer the new air vs. recirculate and change to new air but again it always goes back to recirculate.

That's normal. It's easier for the car to cool the air in the car than the air outside the car.

i have noticed after some time (or temp reached), it goes to outside air automatically. Is that possible? My old RX defaulted to whatever i last set it on.

In the manual it says - rather imprecisely - that the ventilation will change automatically from "recirculate" to "outside air" as it sees fit.

I may be wrong, but the recirculation mode will toggle back and forth when in AUTO mode (and the ambient conditions dictate it). If you get out of AUTO mode, does it stay in that setting?
