ummm, are you going to replace the tire? That looks like a divot of rubber off the sidewall.

You can usually get scratches like that professionally repaired for $100 or so. To me it's not worth the effort or potential to make it worse. I'd just let a professional handle it.

But it does look like the tire needs to be replaced.

Don't feel bad. I had to swerve to avoid hitting another car that drifted into my lane and I and ended up hitting a curb at 50 mph. Shredded two tires and two wheels on my GS with less than 2k miles on it. They were beyond repair, so two new wheels and two new tires later I was out 2 grand.

Hard to tell from the pic, but it appears that the sidewall of your tire looks damaged; if it is you should not drive on it. Replace with spare, call AAA, etc and get it checked out.

Post more pics of the tire

I didn't even notice the damage to the tire...just great! I am going to take it by my local tire shop and see what they say..thank you for pointing that out!

Thanks all for the replies...just replaced the tire...the Michelins they came with, are soft on the sides(what the tire shop told me). I'll be avoiding curbs at all costs from now on! I will live with the wheel scrape for a while and will get it fixed in a couple of months..

I would just bring it to you local Lexus dealer mine fixed mine which was worse than yours for $125 I can't even tell. Though it was free because of tire/rim warranty, but the price was on their. Not to be bad. Got a loaner for the day also!
