I'd like to know to. I want to be able to play DVD movies in motion (for passengers on road trips) and also be able to input addresses in motion without voice guidance.
I know some people with the OBD tool can do this but I don't know how.
OP sorry to jack your thread, but @BeatSonic, what country is that car are you working on here? I notice its RHD, and I LOVE that black/red color interior! Much better than the half-red, half-black that we have in the Americas..
Wow, there's got to be another option out there that doesn't involve removing most of your front trim.
I don't think so. The head unit is the one that decides to lock up or not. It takes multiple inputs, including speed , gps etc, and getting to those inputs require getting behind the head unit. And the way the trim pieces are designed, they have to come out in that order.
But I know how you feel. I went through all that on my car (which is RHD and in that same color as the video, btw) and I seriously never want to again.

That's crazy. I'm coming from a BMW e90 and I remember all you needed was the OBD tool, a software for your computer and knowledge of which codes to alter in the software, and then upload that to your vehicle software and that's it.

This one is the F Sports model in Japan
Although there are many panels that need to be removed, they all come off with ease and it's not too difficult. Most panels are held with clips and you'll only have to deal with a few screws/bolts. If we were to tackle it again, it should take no longer than 30 minutes.
I am able to input addresses in motion without voice guidance. My NX 300h in Europe has no problem with that, doing it all the time. for DVD I have't tried, because I don't have a DVD. maybe i should buy one for test.
