non obvious "watch it buddy" option is to install a hitch, then a bike rack
that gives the person behind you a vertical reference, and everyone will think you're a healthy type of person

It's not a big deal. On an average daily commute, there are probably hundreds more views of your license plate than views it'll receive on this forum. I never know why folks try to hide their publicly visible license plate. LOL!

I have a bumper bully platinum on the rear and a bumptek front plate protector in the front. I flip the bumper bully out when I park and put it back inside when I drive. It doesn't cover the full rear bumper so dumb drivers who can't drive can still swipe your rear side bumper. As for the front plate guard. The bumptek I got was the least obnoxious option. I don't know how good it protects, and I don't want to know. I'm also very selective in my parking spots... so I've been lucky whenever I park on the streets of NYC.

You know, it may not be aesthetically pleasing, but it doesn't look awful. It looks like a reasonable solution to your problem with careless jerks. I don't blame you at all. If I had to deal with street parking I would probably consider the same thing. What did you end up doing for the front?
