from Automotive News:
Lexus car sales were down mostly across the board with the exception of the GS sedan, which rose 7.8 percent. IS sedan sales fell 15 percent in October and sales of the bread-and-butter ES slipped 23 percent.
Sales of the Lexus NX crossover rose 26 percent while the bigger RX posted just a 0.3 percent gain. The big truck-based LX more than doubled sales last month but on very low volume.
Toyota Motor Sales U.S.A. said today that October U.S. sales fell 8.7 percent to 186,295 vehicles compared with the year-ago month, as two fewer selling days and slumping car sales weighed on volume.
Toyota Division sales were down 9.1 percent to 161,492 vehicles with car sales off 17 percent to 74,299 and truck deliveries falling 1 percent to 87,193 units.
Vehicles for the defunct Scion brand were merged into the Toyota nameplate beginning in August.
Through October, overall sales this year for the Toyota group were down 3 percent to just over 2 million vehicles.
