Default Tonneau cover for Nx 200t 2015

Hi there! I was wanting to buy a Tonneau cover for my NX as it did not come with one. Sadly it is a $545.92 part. Before I bought one I was wondering if you all really use yours. Please let me know, I would love some guidance on this one. Thanks!

My opinion since I took mine out:

If you frequently or often carry stuff that is higher than the tonneau cover or you don't need to cover/hide anything that looks valuable, it would be a waste to buy one.

It's only great when you have smaller items and you don't want anyone to see what you're carrying back there.

Also, I will be tinting the windows a little darker, all the way around.

I do often find that the stuff I shove back there ends up bumping against the cover. Only good thing is that it hides stuff a little more than just the privacy glass.

You sure your cover isn't folded and put away under the rear mat (on top of the spare)? That's where it's designed to go if you didn't want to use it so it doesn't get lost in your garage.

BTW, if I lost mine, no way would I pay that much for a replacement. Even at $100, I'd really have to think about it. If you're handy, you could even make your own if you could borrow one to make a template of. Sheet of thin wood, few hinges, dowels, and some string...plus some black paint paint

used my cover all the time on 03RX, but removed from NX and placed over spare tire space. NX doesn't have enough room for groceries, suitcases, etc if the cover is present.

Over the years, I've had SUVs with covers for the rear storage area and ones without covers. When I've had them with covers, I found that, as often as not, they just got in the way and reduced my ability to put larger objects in the cargo area.

Instead of a built-in cover, I'm just as happy keeping a small blanket in the vehicle. When I have something that I want to keep out of sight, I spread the blanket over it. When I don't need to cover something up, I fold up the blanket, and I don't have a cover getting in the way of putting larger objects in the cargo area.

Lexus wants $542 for a cover that feels like it's made out of plastic, felt, and string?! Definitely not worth buying, especially since it usually just gets in the way. My sister used her cover for a few days...now it just sits in the garage (easier than storing away). Like already mentioned, make sure the previous owner didn't put it in the floor of the trunk.

I keep mine below the carpet on the spare and only use it while traveling. I would not replace it if it was missing. I like the blanket idea. A dark blanket would hide stuff very well.

Yeah, I would seriously consider the advice to look under the rear cargo hatch that covers the spare tire to see if it is there. There is a special compartment built specifically to keep it. I don't see any reason the dealer would not include it with the purchase.
Unless you are buying the car second hand and the previous owner lost it.

$500 bucks is way to expensive. Maybe you can buy one from an owner that doesn't want/need theirs.

Personally, I love the thing. I use it all the time.
