Default Clicking Sounds

I just noticed that when I lightly depress the brake pedal, a little clicking sound is made down below. It sounds like it might be coming from the brake pedal itself. It's only when I depress the pedal slightly braking. The braking lights work fine. Is it normal? Thanks

could be the brake light switch clicking on and off

I was driving ours yesterday and did not hear a clicking but my hearing is poor. You might try putting your head under the dash and operating the brake pedal with your hand and see if you can isolate it.

I can't recall a clicking on the NX 200t, but if you have the 300h, the clicking is typical of Lexus/Toyota hybrids.

Ok... at the time when I first responded to this post, I didn't have a clicking noise. Today while driving, there was a clicking noise when I lightly tap in the brake pedal.

With a few minutue if investigating, it's a pin/lever causing a small click from the pin rocking/slopping around the bore of the lever......

there isnt really a so call fix since its normal for the pin pin to move around the hole. Only thing I did was to put some thick wheel bearing grease on the pin to dampen it and it worked. Clicking noise gone.

I know exactly what you talk about and I went to dealership and turns out that is very normal noise.

I have had the same issue. I have taken my NX 200t (my first Lexus) in for service to look into it, and I was told that it is normal for all Lexus vehicles. The way the tech described it, it has something to do with the way the brake mechanics shifting/settling into position. To me this sounds like design flaw. My wife's non-Lexus car does not click when I tap on the brakes. The sounds happens almost everytime when I back out of my garage and tap lightly on the brake pedal for the first time.

I was a former bmw tech at a dealer and I can tell u after I looked at mine, it is normal. It's just that the pin have too much slop inside the bore causing the noise. I fixed it myself with just some simple grease. If the tech at your local Lexus spent an extra 5 min on your car, he/she too could of fixed it with some grease and kept you as a customer happy. Being a former tech at a dealership, I can tell you guys not all techs care and do a good job no matter how much "factory training" they got.

My tech did offer to put some grease to stop the noise/minimize the click sound, however the "stealership" wanted $155 (on top of my 20K maintenance service cost) just to apply the grease. Told them, if the grease is only a temporary fix, then forget it!

$150 to apply grease? Sounds about right from a dealership. Lol. That should of been a courtesy job.
