Any problems with your NX so far?
The NX has been out since 2015, and so far I don't see that many problems reported by owners on this forum. It might be a good idea to start a thread on common problems to give other owners a heads-up.
Problems:
- Engine vibration at idle
- Nav screen coating deteriorates (common in early model years)
- Defective Vaccum Regulator Valve - causing buzzing/humming noise from engine (common in early model years)
- L&R strut mounts - creaking sound when steering the car hard left or right, more pronounced when carrying more weight
- Rattles here and there
- Water pump leakage
- Transmission failure
Recalls:
- Auto parking brake
- ABS actuator

I have 32K miles on my NX F-Sport and no problems to report. I just had the 30K service done and everything checked out fine including brake pad levels. I will be needing tires in about 10-15K miles but that is normal wear and tear. So far it has been a very reliable vehicle and I plan to drive it to the ground.

I feel like its the Nav screen.. when I go over bumps or rumble strips it rattles out of control. I hold the screen together with my hand, and the rattling seems to go away.

Just passed 24000 miles on my 2015 NX200t aka "Rattle Bucket".
1. Numerous rattles and I gave up on the dealership fixing them. I think they gave up too.
2. Vibration at idle. Of course dealer says it is normal. I think that "Vibration Willie" and "Rattle Bucket" have joined together and are out to drive me nuts.
3. Last summer the heater turned on full blast and wouldn't turn off. Drove for an hour to the dealership with the fan on high blasting hot air while it was 95 degrees outside. They reset something and it has never done it again.
4. Left strut mount wore out at 15k. Right strut mount wore out at 20k. Dealership couldn't explain. There was no damage to the suspension and I don't drive the car hard at all. I average 27-30mpg in mixed driving.
5. Drivers side door no longer has that solid thud when you close the door. Other doors still feel tight. The door doesn't leak or have wind noise, it just feels cheap when you close it. I am sure Vibration Willie and Rattle Bucket got together and messed with it.
I have driven Japanese cars since the early 80's (Toyota, Nissan, Honda, Infiniti, Lexus). I have never had a car that has as many rattles as this NX.
In general I do like the NX. It does serve my needs. I leased it so the next person gets to befriend Vibration Willie and Rattle Bucket in about 8 months. Unless the 2018 NX improves a lot I am not sure if I will return.

What were the symptoms, did you get a knock going over bumps?

25k service just finished
Have the car since 2015 and so far so good. no major problem and everything went well expect one noise problem. When I am on road, i can hear rattle sound from my left ear's area. Dealer said seat belt area and fixed during 25k. but it come back recently. Not sure exactly the problem, Might need to talk to dealer again next time. Other than that, the car is great.
Don't have the Navi display problem but I have heard many other do. Average 24-28 MPG which pretty happy.

2016 NX FSport, 17 months, 7000 miles, no issues what so ever. Tightest car ever owned, no rattles (except the woofer, fixed license plate with weather strip tape).
Yes some vibration upon start up, when rpms settle down to normal, but once driving, not vibration detected.
It will be difficult o consider trading in for 2018, but we will see.
I love my NX, drive it weeks at a time.
Then I get in mood for 2017 RX FSport, smooth as silk, totally different driving experience from NX.
I like both NX and RX for intended purpose.
Best of all is the beautiful magnificent grill/front ends of these cars.
Proud to own and drive.

encounted problems so far
i have 2016 fsport purchased 12/15... I just brang the rattle bucket in for creaking dash, they insulated the black plastic hvac cover underneath the nav screen,it heats up from sun and creaks like a nyc taxi cab....lol. Also had the subwoofer insulated.. the passenger seat makes clicking sound over bumps and has to be adjusted at least 5 times to find sweet spot. The rear passenger seat plastic adjust bar rattles had to put a make shift plastic piece and wedge it between.. Also just had the drivers side door lock actuater replaced..it would be a great car except for the rattles, fyi my wifes 2015 crv quiet like a library....2017 crv touring might be next choice, more safety features like the little things...oil life..anyway trek on my fellow nx ers!!

Do you have rattle sound from drive's left area? I have it too as i hear things rattle and super close to my left ear. I thought it is from under seat, but dealership said it is seat belt adjuster area. They fixed but it came back after like a few days.
