For sure, be safe, use jack stands...but worrying about the shape of the pinch welds is a waste of time. I'm up in Canada where winters/salt/rust are common and have put vehicles on jack stands straight up for over a decade without any issues.

Though recently I have moved up to a lift with rubber contact blocks...so jack stands have become a thing of the past.

Are there images showing the result of saving time on the pinch welds?

Prior to me cutting the notches in my spare jack stand set, I also had success placing those stands rotated 90°, up against the pinch weld, on only one side of the pinch weld.

Both placement locations resulted in zero deformation to the vehicle sheet metal, along w/ a strong and secure elevated vehicle support.

The NX weighs between 5000 nad 5399 Lbs. You will never lift the entire car with one jack at the same time. a 2-3 ton jack is more than efficient, make sure you use jack stands before going under the vehicle. A low profile jack is unnecessary as it is not a low profile car as you may not get enough height for whatever you are working on. A jack that can take the car to about 18 inches with the wheels off should be adequate.

No, the NX weighs 4000-4200lbs depending on trim. You've posted gross vehicle weight.

If I want to jack up my 2020 NX at the rear center jack point, how much HEIGHT do I need to get it off the ground in order to be able to clear both tires off the ground?

I am considering buying a jack from Harbor Freight and I need to know if I need the 23"+ or will the 18" one suffice.

I’d go with the 23”. I have an ARCAN Jack that maxes out at ~19” and it’s not enough without using a wood block or two.
