Default 2 Week Old NX in shop for a week now - Not Happy

Picked up on 9/2. 11 miles on the odo when purchased. 7/17 build.
Enjoyed the vehicle for 2 weeks
Then - SRS Airbag System Malfunction.
Take vehicle to dealer message popped up on dash.

NX has been at the dealership for a week now. They are still trying to figure out why that error came up.
They are having to rip everything open. Cant believe it is taking them this long to figure it out. Not sure if the service department at the dealership is in capable of dealing with this stuff.
Service advisor says they've never seen this issue on any Lexus.
This is at Lexus of Richmond.

There goes the fit and finish of the NX.

Absolutely not happy at all.

I don’t blame you for being unhappy, I would be too. Hope it gets sorted soon and that everything is put back together properly.

Maybe give them a few more days (another week max). If they don't get it fixed by then, consider talking to the dealer manager to get you into another car. They can sort it out with Lexus. I would consider it unacceptable for them to keep my new car for 2 weeks.

Thanks. I will try that route.
This dealership is not that great as far as customer service is concerned. But the next nearest one is about 2 hours away from where I purchased the NX.

I thought it was something minor and hence took it to this dealership.

Check your state lemon law. In many (if not most) states, if your new vehicle during the first year of ownership, spent 30 days on one service or 7 times for multiple occasions (not sure about this specific number), you can return your car for full refund.

As long as they have you a loaner, i wouldn't rush on an airbag system repair. Its still a fairly new model and if its a complex issue they may have to fly in a lead engineer to make sure the systems are safe before they give you the car back, i would rather be safe than sorry.

They did give me a loaner.
They figured the issue to be a connector issue, but they want to replace the wiring harness.

I hope they return the vehicle rattle free. All door panels, seats, dash etc were removed for this.

Hopefully their mechanics are good, i believe whenever lexus removes clips they should be replacing them with new ones.
