Default iPhone X fits Wireless Charging dock! (WARNING: It is not officially support yet)

iPhone X can fits in the dock! I assume iPhone 8 can too, but for sure the 8 Plus can't fit due to the size. The warning I was saying is that it is not list to support it, the charging super slow and it raises the temperature very high, maybe not ideal to charge with it yet. I tried, and it make the phone very hot, which I took it off after 20 mins. Maybe other people can test it out and confirm if the charging works well or not. I sent Apple an report and waiting for reply

So unfortunately, all US model 2018 NX does not have Qi wireless charging. I was very upset by this, but apparently they don't do much of a charge at all according to pre 2018 nx owners.

Anyone with a 2018 NX have pics of the center console without the Qi wireless charger? Is there a small raised storage shelf in its place? If the Qi charger serves no purpose, I may be interested in replacing it with whatever the 2018 models have.

Is it the iPhone X or the dock that isn’t Qi compliant? Does the iPhone 8 get hot when charging on the dock? Do non Apple phones get ho on the dock?

iPhone X and iPhone 8 are both Qi support and as well as the dock in the car. It does charging, just it make the phone super hot which it is not normal. My best guess is the dock sending too much or over the amount of it. Cause it gets the hot temperature warning too

I have used my iPhone 8 with the Qi charger several times. After 20 minutes my phone was warm but I wouldn’t call it hot. It didn’t seem particularly slow either. I don’t remember the exact percentage increase but it seemed pretty normal to me. I do have my phone in a case so perhaps that attenuates the effect of the charging current, thus avoiding the heat buildup that some have reported?

Warm should be one of the normal for wireless charging. When I put my iPhone on the charging dock in the car, it become super hot, and it had the temperature warning sign as you can not even use the phone until it cools down. which it is very not normal

I agree with you, it isn’t normal. Do you have any other wireless charging products that you can test with to rule out the phone as the culprit? I wouldn’t necessarily assume it is the charger in the car. Seems like it could just as easily be either at fault?

I actually ordered the Belkin charging pad and my friend got the anker one. Once it got here, I will give a try and test it out

I tested this morning with iPhone X. Charged from 27% to 38% on my 20 commute to work with Spotify streaming thru BT. Little warm to the touch, but not too hot to handle. I have a simple Insignia (Best Buy store brand) TPU case at the moment.

This has been my experience, warm but not overly hot. Mine is in the Apple leather case.
