Poor fuel economy in our new NX200T
#17
28.9 Yokos, dropped to 28.7 on soft winter tires. I just went back to Yokos, it'll climb back up. No idea how you get that crappy mpg. Though mine is FWD, that must be the factor, plus I have very good driving foot after 2 hybrids.

My 2017 NX200t FSport has almost 10K miles and it gets the worst gas mileage. I normally drive locally with a lot of stop and go traffic. I'm in the Northeast so it gets cold. I get roughly 200 miles per tank with a 16.7 MPG average using premium gas. I drive in ECO mode most of the time and am not a lead foot. Could something be wrong with my car?

This is the first time buying a Lexus Car. I have been in the market for a while, looked at all the options.
Now I see a good deal but it at a Non Lexus dealer, its a 19 model and miles are under 5k. The carfax report is all good. So if it has 5k mils i can get the free maintenance until it hits 20 k? and if any issues i can show them any time?
what are the pros and cons of buying a 19 car from a Non Lexus dealer.
Any info would be appreciated.
Thanks.

Great MPG !!
IMO the NX is very efficient. I had a 15 base model and now a 17 F-Spot premium gas only and I drive on sport most of the time also in normal city traffic. Sometimes I step on the gas on my way to work and when coming back home. I’m getting in avg 22-23 mpg. My wife’s 16 rav 4 won’t get 20mpg Lol !!

Wow, everyone must have lead feet because our '17 NX gets great mileage - usually 24-25mpg in in suburb/country driving and we just got back from a 150 mile interstate trip today and got 33.7mpg and that was with the AC on.

I also have a 2017 NX200t with 14,000 miles on it. It came equipped with 225R60-18 tires. I just went on a 400 mile trip and averaged between 28 - 29 mpg at speeds between 75 and 85 mph. I think the mpg is decent considering the weight of the vehicle and the speed I was driving.

Marketing strategy imho. If Lexus does a 8 speed AT or a CRV like smooth cvt on the NX with some additional turbo tuning to extract as much power as a 2019 Rdx or mazda cx5 signature which they can easily do why would anyone buy the RX ? Larger interior room would be the only difference between the NX and RX. In that case Murano sales will increase ..not RX sales. They do not want to cannibalize the RX atleast for now. Porsche doing the same thing with their Cayman.
