NX300 tire noise
Hi everyone, I noticed that when i am on the highway the cabin is SO loud, the only time the road noise lessens is when i am driving below 20 mph or on a very smooth pavement...i have the michellin primacy mxv4 tires, is there anything i can do to address this noise. I usually blast the radio to ignore it. thank you for your help, the forum is wonderful!

Lexus ARE NOT loud on the road. I would go see your dealer, tire could have a bad band. I would just state road noise and let them check all things, not just the tires. I have seen add on features like Clear Bra increase road noise greatly. If the pieces on the mirrors is not perfect, it creates wind noise.
The new NX is much quieter (in my opinion) to the 1st gen.

problems will show quickly, not over time. The fact that you have only had it for a short time is good evidence of a problem in build maybe. Nothing and no one is perfect, that's why we have service shops. They will get you taken care of though.

What model year is your NX? I have heard the 2018 has improved sound deadening.
Our 2016 isn’t as quiet as our ES or either of our past RXs. Definitely quieter than the Priuses though. The road noise is my main dissapointment after nearly two years of ownership. Oh, and we have the same Michelin tires. We have really enjoyed the car so it isn’t so loud that it has really bothered us. A lot if it boils down to expectations and it meets our ours.

My hearing is probably not as good as yours as I don't notice the road noise until about 50 mph (depending upon the road surface), and I too have the Michelin tires that I asked for and got when I bought the car.
I once said I would trade-in my 2017 for a 2018 if the 18s are quieter, but two days ago a Lexus sales guy said no changes had been made to make this model year quieter. I'll eventually test drive it to find out for myself, but for now the road noise (not wind noise) is something I'll just have to get used to on long trips when I want to listen to good music or recorded books.

As an employee of Lexus, unfortunately that salesman does not know what he is talking about. Some times you need to remind yourself that at the dealer level the salesmen are not with Lexus, they just sell Lexus. If they do not self study to improve themselves, they will fall behind in understanding. I have met salesmen that knew more than I ever thought to retain. while, at the same time I have met salesmen that don't know what BSM means. I would agree that you should test drive the '18 for yourself. Best times coming up to buy (for Lexus discounts) is now and March.

Thanks for the advice! Yeah, I was planning to wait until spring before taking a look at the '18 NX F-Sport (assuming there's no rumor of another refresh for 2019), but I like my current trouble free car so much, I may not want to roll the dice on another one.
