Default Independent Mechanic

Good morning guys and gals, I recently purchased a fairly loaded 2018 NX F Sport (no Sport+ and no panoramic camera) and was wonder if anyone could recommend a very good independent Lexus mechanic to use for maintenance work in the Maryland area? I would also consider northern VA as well. I am planning to take it to the dealership for the first two scheduled maintenances as they are free, but after that I would like to go independent. I am looking for someone that is fairly priced (not necessarily cheap), does high quality work, and will treat the car like his/her own. I am a car guy, and the vehicle is a bit more than transportation to me, and would like to keep it running and looking great. Thanks in advance!

Happy Tuesday!

What's wrong with taking it to the dealer? I haven't found them to be drastically more expensive and while the vehicle is under warranty a lot more can be taken care of at no charge.

Unless, $300-$500 is a chump change for you, I wouldn't go the dealer. Every time I went to the dealer, my bill was more than $300. I was thinking of going to VA Tire. Anyone here has had better experience with any good workshop? I would also appreciate the info.

I've only paid $35 for TPMS reprogramming after swapping tires myself and $250ish (Canadian $) for the one year service (oil change, brake inspection, etc) so far. First other two services were free (1 month and 6 month) and every time it's been in I've had them address other things which were all done at no charge under warranty.

Compared to previous dealer experiences (Toyota, Mazda, etc) their shop rates are a smidge more (maybe $20/hr more) but not much. Even compared to private mechanics, the shop rate is maybe $30-40/hr more but you get a loaner vehicle and some other perks that make it worth while.

My dealership rates are ~$150 per hour for comparison.

I just checked my last invoice from my Lexus dealer and their rate is $119/hr CAD. So yeah, $150 USD is a damn rip off.
