Question Coolant system

I just recently bought a pre-own 2015 NX200t F-Sport with only 15k miles, and today while checking under the hood, I noticed that my Engine coolant reservoir was empty, but the turbo coolant reservoir is in the proper level... so i took the car to the dealer for inspection to make sure nothing was wrong with the system, they told me everything was fine and no leaks were found and that they top off the anti-freeze. So when i got back home, I checked and the reservoir still empty, so I called them back and they told me that is normal because it’s a pressurized system... They also told me not to add any more coolant because it will over flow... Does any one know if this is true??. I mean I would assume the reservoir has to have coolant in it because it does have the FULL and LOW mark on the side. Has anyone experience this before?.

somebody their doesn't know what the h*ll they are talking about! that container should definitely be showing something in it especially when it is hot. my advice is when it is overnight cold, fill it to the cold line or a little past. then recheck when hot and see where its at..

Got it thank you. Do you know if there is any plug or something to bleed the system out?.

i dont think there is on these. but what concerns me is where is the coolant going? if you fill it good and it stays that way fine. but if you need to keep adding, then something is definitely wrong...

The reservoir bottle acts, indirectly, as the bleed. As the engine heats, any excess fluid from expansion flows into the tank when it exceeds the cap blow off pressure. When it cools, it syphons the excess back into the radiator. Just keep the reservoir at the full cold line, and it will eventually stabilize unless, as mentioned above, you have a leak. It's possible to have a leak only under high pressure, making it hard to find. Check the reservoir bottle for a leak, too.

Thank you guys for your help. And yes that’s my concern too... I just bought the car a month ago so I don’t know if it was maybe something that the deal for got to do, add coolant, or of there’s actually something wromg with the car... and I got more confused when the dealer told it it was normal for the reservoir to be empty...I haven’t used the car since I took it to the dealer this past tuesday to get it checked so I will add coolant to the full line tonight and tomorrow I will bring it back to the dealer to replace my screen and so they can do a pressure test on the system and see what happens... and again thank you guys for your help.

Yes, so Saturday I went back to lexus to get the screen replaced and I showed the service manager the pictures of my reservoir been empty even after they checked the car on Tuesday, and in fact he told me that wasn’t normal, so they did a pressure test on the system and apparently everything came out fine, keep in mind I added coolant my self Thursday night... The only thing he told me was that they tightened the clamps on the hoses because they where loose, but then again there’s no sings of leaks or coolant under the hood or underneath the car... and I been checking the coolant level since Saturday and so far still on the same level, full mark when engine is cold. He also told me there’s a big possibility that when they did the 161 check point service on the car, that the tech could of forgot to check the coolant level after doing a coolant flush on the car..... But either way I will keep checking to make sure level stays normal. And if anything changed I’ll keep you guys posted. 👍🏼

maybe that is exactly what happened if they flushed the system. i would be comfortable in saying that this mystery just may be solved....
