Power rear door with Kick Sensor not working?
#18
So I had the dealer contact me r.e. the kick sensor.
His response was that the Australian issue 2018 NX series do not come with a hands free boot opening option at all. Neither the kick sensor, nor the Lexus badge sensor that came with the RX series. Can anyone confirm if this is accurate?
Are there any Australian NX owners on the forums who do have a working kick sensor operated rear door?
If this option wasn't available in Australia, it would have been a handy thing to know before-hand... What else didn't the Australian issue NX300h come with?

Greetings, I have the 2018 Lexus NX 300 F Sport. I've had it for about two months now. Loving the car... I know the kick sensor worked a couple of times in the beginning but it stopped working. I find myself looking like a idiot putting my foot there and nothing is happening Anyone else having the same issue?

I guess reading the manual wouldn't have hurt either.
Thanks again!

For me, I have to wave the feet and step back at it. I do agree some of the rental car I had was so easy to open without go back. For my car, I have to wave it and step back. the step back is important or it wont' work some reason. Hope this helps.
I also went to dealership twice to fix this when they can't find problem either

kick sensor for the RX 450h
My 2022 RX 450h is supposed to have the kick sensor but it does not work. After crawling under the car and looking for anything that looks like a sensor and there is not one. Does the 450h not have this option? Because the window sticker says it does. Does anyone know what the sensor looks like?

These images may help . . . .
Image 1
On the NX300, the cable identified as red is easy to find from below the bumper cover (rear right corner of the vehicle).
Image 2 & 3:
The sensor runs nearly the full width of the bumper.
