I pressed the SOS button and spoke to the live agent to enrol/register my car. Once it’s done, I started to get live traffic for the main roads.
Sometimes it takes 2 mins for the car to receive signal, sometimes it might take up to 5 mins...

Navigation Canada
I have a 2018 NX 300 - I am not sure how it works but I do get live traffic updates and the GPS occasionally suggests a different route if there is traffic congestion on route. Again, if I remember correctly, I was told this is a free service for 2018 models.

Was this while you were using navigation or just on the maps screen?

You don’t have to be on navigation for the live traffic to work, it’ll eventually show up on your map if you enroll your car.
However, if you have navigation on, it will alert you with the traffic incident on the route!

my experience is that if you want a voice-activated traffic alert, you have to be on navigation, otherwise your map will just show different colors to indicate traffic conditions.
