Hi, I’m new to ClubLexus and a new owner to a 2018 Lexus NX. Has anyone experienced a crack inside the gauge cluster lens? I got the car for less than 3 months but I noticed this during the day with direct sunlight causing a line shadow and nighttime causing uncomfortable light glare. I initially thought it was the outside so I tried wiping it with a damp cloth but it did not go away. The lens on the outside still feels very smooth.
Is this a defect or something common to not stress over?
Horizontal crack line right under the “40” mph across to “120”
I would bring it back asap and mention this. Usually, they'll do a "good will" type thing if they don't specifically acknowledge it as a defect. I had something similar with the dome light. They replaced it as a courtesy. But you have to bring it back soon. The longer you wait, the less likely they'll help you out.

Thanks for the advice. I just scheduled an appointment to bring it in next week. I'm not 100% sure if it's a crack or scratch, but pretty sure it's inside the lens. The outside of the lens feels very smooth without any rough spots.
With only being able to see a picture, it is hard for me to know for sure, but it looks to me like it is probably a fine scratch in the lens. The plastic used in those lenses is fairly soft, and, if you wipe them with a cloth that has even a small piece of debris on it, it can cause a scratch that looks exactly like what I see in the picture. Such a scratch can be so fine that you would not be able to feel it with your finger.
