It's not as integrated as apples siri is unfortunately.

Yes it will... Press and hold the off hook button just like you would for Siri. This is available for the 18 only though. The previous NX models would not do this.

Can confirm it does not work in my Pixel 2 with 18 NX using the button.

That's a issue with your pixel 2 than. Every Android is different but it has worked with all the androids we have paired, even older and untested models like the LG G6. MORE THAN LIKELY, you have google assistant turned off. I get this way more than I would like to see, People blame our cars for something they did not do properly. Check if your google assistant is on and that you are holding the button, not just pressing.

Ok, So I just paired a Pixel 2 XL to a 18 NX300. The ONLY thing that you need to do extra is add the NX as a trusted device. The phone will ask if you want to do this right after you pair it, if you tap no then google assistant will not work.

Google assistant is on and I did try holding the button. By trusted device do you mean for unlocking it when it's connected to the bluetooth?

The only time your Pixel will ask if the car can be added as a trusted device is when you pair it as a device the very first time. It will be a pop up on your phone. You can also go to settings and search trusted devices which will be apart of your google account. Then add the NX as one and you're good to go.
