I can't quite get the suction cup to stay put in the upper position - there is enough hanging over that the only thing holding it in place is the adhesive silicone... and with a heavy IP6+ I'm not going to chance it. I just rinsed it off and hopefully it does what they say and becomes "virgin" again and I can put it back at the lower spot. Lesser of 2 evils.
I'm still P***ED that my go-to for over a decade - ProClip - made this stupid mount position decision
I think the link you provided for the proclip mount must be an error. I went to step 1 and selected a phone mount then step 2 and selected the NX mount and both went to my cart for grand total of $74.98. Yikes
Nope you're not crazy... They are expensive as heck but they don't leave any adhesive or need screws- pretty amazing they do it all with clever precision measurements. They worked well on my Audi and Acura cars over the years - I've spent a fortune with them - but this solution they came up with for the NX is crap. Blocking the nav screen???
i found that the original one almost fits, with a little of the suction cup not sitting on anything but it hasnt affected its ability to staying put. I did cut off the little tab on the suction cup

I have to report that iottie easy flex 2 just won't stick to the side of my dash. No matter what I try it falls off in about 5 minutes. It's no match at all when I put my S5 in it. I've tried washing the sticky pad but it doesn't help. One thing is when I turn the dial on the base it doesn't seem to do anything. I'm used to the lever type so when you clamp down on it you can feel the suction. This one, nothing.
Very disappointed, any suggestions?
I simply sit mine in the front cup holder between the 2 plastic holders facing me.
Personally, after driving a stick as my DD for years, I refuse to **** around with my phone while I'm driving.
More often than not I need my cupholders for cups, but I wish more had that attitude, around here it seems 90% of the drivers have a cell in their hand or in their ear.
