2019 NX Leasing questions
So, I am in the process of deciding if I want to get a 2019 Lexus NX. I have been in talks with a dealership in my local area.
Not sure if this is a good deal, or if I should keep looking. I don't want/need a bunch of features, just looking for a comfortable SUV.
2019 Lexus NX w/ comfort package
Purchase:
Retail: $40,783
Offering me either $36,122 (extra $1000 off for not taking 1.9% special) or
$37,122 +1.9% financing
Most likely I am not interested in actually purchasing the car right now.
Lease:
36 mo/15k
$3500 down
$403/mo w/ taxes included.
Curious if that seems to be a good deal to you all? I think what's stopping me is the $3500 out the door.
Your help/feedback is appreciated.

Sounds like a decent deal. Should be .00065 MF and 57% RV on the regular non sport for a lease. You can do your own numbers. I just got a $2000 rebate from lexus and $1000 off from the dealer for $3000 total off on the model I got which is base plus Nav and luxury package.... Sticker was around $45,500
NO DOWN just paid first month and fees for about $530 a month.

The dealer should be able to lower the up-front cash by increasing the monthly payment. You may be doing this, but run the numbers. What is the cap cost on the lease? What's the money factor? What's the residual?
What helps me is to look at the total cost of two scenarios:
- 20% down and monthly payments for four years (the cost of buying the car)
- Any up-front cash plus lease payments (assuming a 48-month lease) plus the residual (in other words the cost if you bought the car at the end of the lease)
