2019 F-Sport 2 week review
I've been driving my 2019 F-Sport for a little over two weeks. 648 miles. Nebula grey pearl with Circuit red interior.
So far I'm liking it, big fan of the F-Sport look. Really nice fit and finish. It's much more practical and useful than my G37 was. Especially with 2 kids. It's not quite as fun to drive though....
I'm really enjoying the Sport+ driving mode. To me it's a big difference between normal mode and Sport+ with AVS. The suspension is noticeably more firm along with the steering. Big difference in throttle response as well. Then when I put it back in Normal mode it's nice and smooth.
Another feature I like is the adaptable cruise during my commute. Works great at all speeds and keeps a reasonable distance.
Engine- Good acceleration improved with Sport+ and it's pretty quiet compared to the G37. Thankfully it has the engine noise dial. The RDX I test drove did not and it was loud. 6 speed vs 7 in the G37 but I honestly don't notice it.
Seats- I like how they hug you although it took a couple days to figure out the best settings. It's a more upright position vs the G37. My only complaint would be that my left leg rests on the side bolster when putting my food on the dead pedal. A thigh extension would be perfect. The heat level is good. Not hot enough to try the cooled seats yet.
Infotainment- Not a huge fan of the remote touch but I've gotten comfortable with it. I do like the screen and the ability to split it with map and music. I wish it wouldn't override the music screen with exits. The nav works great IMO. Traffic is good and the 3 shortcuts on the main screen is a nice touch. Overall there is a ton of stuff to dig into. Then you have the mini display above the steering wheel. Lots of information, a little overwhelming and still discovering things.
Safety- BSM is great, rear cross traffic has come in handy a few times at my kid's school drop off. Parking assist is also helpful for parking in the garage.
Heated wheel- better than nothing but it could be better. The heated area is small and heat is uneven.
MPG- Not great at 20mpg but I assume it will get better with a few more miles on the odometer.
Space- Good amount for what I need. Our other vehicle is a larger suv. I removed the privacy cover right away.
Kick sensor for hatch- works great although the hatch motor is a little noisy.
Remote start via app- No issues although I hate that the engine shuts down when I open the door. Dumb.
I can't think of anything else, great vehicle so far.
