No Apple carplay on 2019 NX?!
I bought 2019 NX300 F SPORT yesterday. I was very excited until I found this vehicle doesn't have Apple carplay option... I searched every website and I found this.
2019 NX and RC F vehicles produced on or after 10/01/2018 are compatible with CarPlay®. You can find the production month and year on your VIN plate on the driver's side door frame.
Lexus remains committed to enhancing our in-vehicle multimedia guest experience. We are currently conducting an internal trial for Apple CarPlay® compatibility in some 2018 LC, 2018 LS, 2018/19 NX, 2018 RC, 2018/19 RC F, and 2019 ES (non-navigation). At this time, we do not have any additional information we can share but anticipate providing further details to the applicable guests in Summer 2019.
After I read this, I checked my car production date and it was 2018 June. I was really depressed.
I mean.. is this a joke? Even the salesman told me the carplay fuction is available on All 2019 NX. Carplay is very important to me and one of top reason I choose this model.
All I want to say is "Check the production date on 2019 NX if you want Carplay"
Ridiculous..

I'm pissed, too.
I get it. I'm pissed off, too. I bought my 2019 NX 300 F Sport thinking I'd have Android Auto and built in Alexa. I have neither, as my car was made 5/18. It's too late to get out of my lease, as it's been five days. Five days ago, I could've chosen a different car that would have had those things for no more money. I kinda feel like I got suckered into buying an "old" 2019. It also doesn't have sport+, either, which I noticed when I test drove it, thought I was doing something wrong and forgot to ask about it. Dammit. If I would have asked about that.....grrrrr.

I'm sure that Lexus Corporate, before they made any decision about including car play in the mid 2019 model year, researched and decided there would be so little backlash about this sleight-of-hand disrespect for all the folks who bought "2019 NX'S" produced before a certain date.
They obviously decided it would make them a WHOLE lot of money by not retrofitting car play on at least those buyers that complained about their sleazy decision!
It's just another example of what the car manufacturers really think about customers. We have no-one to blame but ourselves if we go back and buy another Lexus if it bothered us so much!
This is my third Lexus, I've been satisfied with them all, and I really don't care about car play, so I won't let it affect my next Lexus purchase, but I WILL be a bit more aware that they are by no means concerned for me, other than to get me to sign on the bottom line!
This was a corporate decision, and you can bet the store, if it caused them any grief on the bottom line, they would do something about it, PRONTO!!
Just go by the first rule of business---LET THE BUYER BEWARE!!!!

I did myself. Must follow instructions exactly. Its open source Panasonic software. Takes about 1.5 hours to complete. Just be patient.
Can have the dealer do it if $200 isn't important to you.
But having said that, I never use CarPlay its way to Nanny. I really like the LSAILT Android box I added to the Aux input, Way more features and can mirror iPhone or android screen like Chromecast or Apple TV. Way more useful. I use a T-Nodile Sync-Up on the OBD port for Wifi. Iphone or android does screen mirroring via wifi for any passenger in the car that wants to cast to the 12.3" display.

This article addresses the new features for Carplay that ios13 will bring. I’m running the beta and these changes are nice, a step forward. Still want wireless and auto start up but it’s nice to see progress.

Full mirror is a dream come true. Could you direct us to more info on how you are doing this?
