If calipers check out OK, then just replace the pads with something better... Pads are cheap. Look at Akebono. I run those on all of our cars, even my STi. Zero issues. Almost no dust. Why are they charging so much for rotors?? That seems ridiculous for a Toyota... Have you ever done pads/rotors are a vehicle before? If so, seriously look into doing this yourself. This is such an easy task on vehicles that paying a dealer to do it is asking to be bent over.

I can tell you from past experience that if a car sits around for a long period of time and doesn't get driven often the brakes will go down more. I had this on my STi that normally chills in the garage and gets taken out once in a few months. The rotors end up getting scored up and then wears away at the pads more. Now I try to drive it more often and not let cars just sit in the garage the whole time.

Can you get pictures of the stuff that was taken off/replaced. It does seem not normal to go through that many mm in that amount of time short you driving on a track...lol

What the dealer is telling you sounds sketchy. My front pads were replaced at 60K on my 15 Fsport and even then they still had about 3mm left. Get a second opinion from an independent shop or yes, the caliper is sticking which then is a warranty issue. Go to a different dealership if necessary.

I did speak to the service manager. The pads on all f-sports are performance pads. They are different than the other models of Lexus. I asked him how in the first year I owned the nx f-sport 2016-17 I went from 10 mm to 9mm driving about 4000 miles. Then from 2017-2018 I went down to 8mm in about 4000 miles. My car has 12, 200 miles one year later, and I was told I was at 3mm. I asked him how that was possible, driving the exact same drive as the previous 3 years on the exact same road. He just shrugged. Yeah..not planning on using them anymore. I also asked why use a brake pad that scores or hurts rotors. He said to stop the vehicle better, because it is a performance car. It’s safer. I asked if that’s the case, why not use those pads on all their models. He didn’t have an answer except to say maybe my next Lexus shouldn’t be an f-sport. 20 years I have been using this dealer for service. My next car will most likely not be a Lexus.

I have always paid a friend to change my brakes. usually about 300 bux for parts and another 100 for the labor.

I validated, the non F-Sport NX uses the exact same brake pads as the F-Sport. What a load of *****.

I sent an email to lexus corporate. If and when I get a reply, I will copy and paste it here. In looking on the internet at the f-sport models, and even on this forum, it seems like the f-sport does have brake pads that wear out faster than other models. I am hoping I can get an aftermarket brake pad that will last longer and not wreck the rotors. Having just spent $800 for the front pads/new rotor and 500 for rear pads/resurfacing rotor I should be good for a couple of years or so. Next go around will not be with lexus service....

This may be of no use to anyone reading this thread, as I barely know a pad from a rotor, but the report from my 2017 F-Sport's 20,000 mile check yesterday indicates:

F-10
R-9

The dealer commented, "that's not much wear," to which I shrugged, "maybe it's because I'm always using my paddles to shift-down before braking...."

Oldtimers will tell you this: When you hand key to the service guy, you look him in his eyes and politely say "I'd like to have replaced parts in the box, handed to me, please". You basically took a word for fact.
