Clicking noise from steering wheel when turning
Whenever I turn the steering wheel of my '18 NX300 left or right while stopped, I hear (not so loud) clicking noise from the wheel, like winding a mainspring. Has anyone else experienced this?
I brought it in to a dealer but of course they couldn't hear anything.

I actually hear this in mine but mine is a 2019. But mine is also lowered. so mine might be the spring popping slightly in the strut mount. taking it back to my mechanic next week to check and make sure before I take it to Lexus. I know if it is suspension related they will void that part of my warranty because I lowered it. but I don't care, it looks too good to raise it back up to stock height.

OP, ever find out what the noise was? I took mine to my mechanic, it isn't the strut mounts. it is definitely in the steering wheel/column itself. sounds exactly the way you described it.

Some toyota's had issues with the steering column intermediate shaft...basically they'd bind up when under load, NX design is similar so it's possible. Otherwise, the strut bearing is a fair guess.

about 98% sure it isn't the strut mount. my car had less than 500 miles when lowered, so I doubt they would be bad this quickly. it has to be something else...
on another note, just got back from a 400 mile road trip and only issue I have is at slow speeds you can hear this when turning the steering wheel left or right. once you are above say 8mph it goes away, or you don't hear it anymore.

I have been told it is the strut mounts and their new angle. Still, I find it hard to believe that basically new strut mounts would do this. I actually think mine is just the springs themselves. I am not 100% sure though. First and last time trying RS-R products, I do know that much though.

Came here because I'm dealing with similar sounds on several vehicles
- but the sound on MY NX's gets/got louder and worse in Colder weather I've found.
Here is what it sounds like:

Steering sounds like crap when turning the wheels in parking lots...
My workaround typically - turn up radio / roll window down - basically do what you'd do with a Cheap Car .... Ignore until it breaks ;p
mainly because neither is my daily driver - I'd go nutz hearing that crap every day!
'16 turned it in... don't care anymore
'18 will probably do the same
