2020 Lexus NX 300/300h available now
Hi,
I just noticed that 2020 Lexus NX specs are available now
- Not redesigned
- No Android Auto info.
- Hybrid price substantially reduced. The base NX 300h is just 2500CAD more than NX300, previously difference was almost 7000 CAD! (Prices are in Canadian $, as I am from Canada)
I feel really sad now, as I was hoping for redesign, but this did not happen. I was hoping for entertainment interface change, but that did not happen. I was hoping for Android auto, but that did not happen. What a letdown.

Just checked the US site, also showing the 2020 NX. Since it's an early release for 2020, maybe the 2021 will be 1st quarter 2020, like they have done previously with the RX? Not sure which auto show it may make an appearance in since the NAIAS moves to June 2020, maybe New York?

2019 RAV4 was redesigned and it is bigger than Lexus NX. The blind spot monitoring is available on base (LE) version of RAV4, but it is not available even on 2020 Lexus NX PREMIUM package (Canada) - you have to go to Luxury package (5000CAD more) to get that. That just does not make any sense. Lexus did not have to redesign NX for 2020, but they had to include all safety features in the standard model and they did not do that - this is what I call big letdown. I really waited for this model and feel very disappointed.

There was a lot of speculation that 2020NX will be redesigned. Acura RDX was redesigned in 2019 and it is a bigger SUV with all the latest tech even in the base model and much better price.
2019 RAV4 was redesigned and it is bigger than Lexus NX. Have you driven the 2019 RAV4? It may be slightly bigger but that’s about the only thing it has on the NX. The RAV4 is underpowered and pretty cheap looking/feeling on the inside. It’s a night and day difference IMO.
The new RDX is a strong competitor. I nearly bought one but was put off by how loud the interior noise was. The fake engine noise cannot be turned off. I also don’t trust Acura transmissions lately. There are many documented problems.
The US NX has all the safety features standard. They really should have added a pano sunroof. The Japanese model has it.
Reading about the stats on various vehicles is one thing but a lot of those become irrelevant once you start test driving.

Additional info I found on 2020 NX: 2020 NX300 requires Premium Fuel only (91 octane), but 2020NX300h requires "Unleaded Gasoline Only", (87)
Also, premium package and above has new Lane Tracing Assist (LTA) feature, that is more advance than Lane Keep Assist (LKA) feature on 2019 model.

I am now looking into NX300h, would it be possible for you to post here what options are included in Premium and Executive packages for 2020 NX300h? It appears that your ordering system has more correct information than Lexus Canada website.

I do like Acura RDX looks and features, but I really want Lexus - mostly for reliability. I am on Acura forums and do know about new RDX issues.

Actually, the mid-priced Lexus vehicles like the RX and ES follow a 6 year cycle (and most Toyota’s for that matter). The more expensive vehicles like the LS and LX follow a longer cycle. The RX and ES saw a mild cosmetic refresh at the three year point, as did the NX, so I would expect the NX to follow the six year cycle as well. Therefore, I would look for the 2021 model year to be the next update.
