Since the 2020 is the 6th model year of the NX and it came out early in the year, any thoughts on the 2021 being a completely redesigned model coming out 1st quarter 2020? Looking to possibly replace our 2004 RX at some point but don't need a larger vehicle. Next gen NX may be the way to go.

Have you driven the new Turbo RDX or CX5 Turbo Signature or GLC .. All good options and if you can stretch a bit a CPO Macan as well. The only reason to wait for the new NX would be if long term reliability is high on your priority list and you plan to keep the NX for like 7 plus years..

Drove both the GLC & RDX. GLC gets very expensive to get all the bells and whistles and the A/B maintenance plans are overpriced in this area. I like the RDX but waiting to see what Lexus brings to the table. Haven't check out the Mazda as of yet. We tend to keep some vehicles for extended periods of time and have had pretty good luck with the Lexus, which is why I am interested in an updated NX.

Never forget that Mazda does not release parts to aftermarket. So if you keep cars for long time - past warranty - you are destined to go pay grossly at Mazda dealer for every little piece that failed. Unless you don't care, of course.

Have owned over ten Acura's. In the beginning they were bullet proof. Came to Lexus six years ago and soooo happy. The last couple of Acura's we owned were nothing like the earlier ones in reliability. The current J D Power reliability rankings you know the one that has Lexus #1 for eight years in a row has Mazda 21 and Acura 26 out of 31. It is just not Acura being 26 but their trend five years ago they were 5th. Every year they have dropped farther and farther down. Certainly an alarming trend. Add Lexus is #1 in lowest depreciation, loyalty, customer satisfaction and lowest in maintenance cost among luxury cars and I would not touch a Mazda, Mercedes or Acura. Any car manufacturer would love to be #1 in any one of these categories let alone all five. I would wait until the new NX.

The 2021 NX will have a major refresh including a plug-in hybrid. The NX will be four inches longer which it needs. The trunk is to small. The plug-in hybrid will copy the Rav 4 with 300 horsepower, 39 miles of electric range and 40 mpg after. I will be first in line. Should come with at least a $4,500 federal tax credit.

Agreed. There has been absolutely nothing to suggest there will be a new NX model in 2021. Unfortunately, it seems Lexus missed their normal refresh cycle on this model. I wonder why? Just what are they planning since they deviated from their typical 6 year strategy? The good news is that there are now numerous solid competitors in the compact luxury market. Frankly, the RAV4 is a good looking crossover and a solid alternative.

Many many sites disagree with no new NX in 2021.
