Default NHTSA Alignment sways right

Hi,

I purchased a used 2017 NX F-Sport earlier this year and currently have 25,000 miles on it. I noticed the vehicle swayed right so I took it into Firestone for an alignment. It came back better but still swaying right due to the caster. I was told by Firestone and Lexus this isn’t adjustable. I came across an announcement from NHTSA (below). I called a local Lexus dealership and they said my vin isn’t affected but I believe it falls into the guidelines they announced. Has anybody else seen this or taken their vehicle into Lexus for the fix?

LoL so basically to adjust caster they're telling you to shift the entire subframe? Sounds fun!

There is a thread on this forum 2 years ago without any conclusion or closure
https://www.clublexus.com/forums/nx-...the-right.html

According to the attached NHTSA TSB, the warranty is limited to "Basic Warranty" which seems BS to me, not bumper-to-bumper for 4 years, which I'd say this problem should be covered? Also for the VIN H2 (2017 at TMK plant), this "Basic Warranty" only cover VINs in previous year (before 2017), or if in 2017 whose SP #s are earlier than 148776?

I must thank my lucky stars that my '16 NX behaves normally during daily commute and the last hwy trip, touch wood!

So much for Lexus reputation of taking care of their (supposedly) valued customers!

Btw, if yours is a CPO and just purchased within the last 10 days, you'd have a chance to exchange this with another vehicle stocked by the same dealer, a time-limited option!

Thanks for the reply. Just got a message from Lexus confirming the issue and it’s a $200-$300 job.

If the problem can be fixed with $200, $300 then it is not a big deal. The impression I got, if true someone can prove me wrong, is that it is not fixed after the alignment job!!

That said, I should have not laughed at my buddy mechanic, who encouraged me to get a Toyota/Lexus or Honda/Acura as he can fix them, not a luxury German car. FWIW, he got himself a late model RDX, used but still with warranty. Before I got the NX, I asked him about RDX, he advised not to (?) Then I asked him why, he complained about a strut or suspension part which Acura still not able to fix under warranty, and he is so pissed at it (himself a mechanic). I now suppose that luxury cars can and still have issues too, and perhaps the over-engineered German cars have more than their shares of issue

Welcome to Toyota who, for reason unknown, likely savings, does not provide camber and caster alignment option on their cars.
