I try to keep a car 10 yrs 120k miles then trade it in for new so I buy and trade in...did this with my 06 lexus is250awd and got $7500 for trade so not horrible. I have known a few to get screwed on lease deals so pay attention to contract and turn in. if I were buying top dollar car like over 70grand I would probably lease tho. wouldnt be able to afford to fix it if ever broke.

I lease my NX. I used this for my decision factor: https://www.cartelligent.com/blog/bu...e-lexus-rx-350

Lease also depends on the residual value of the car when the lease ends. ie: How much equity you can get from it so that you can buy back or sell it to another dealership and bargain for your next car.

Another important variable as technology keeps improving, I don't want to drive an outdated car with less safety features/gadgets

leasing vs buy reasoning summary
  • You are rich and can easily afford to buy a lexus but prefer lease for all the changing new tech and no hassle if any accidents regarding loss of residual value..You like to get into a new car every 3 years
  • You are rich and like to mod your car (lower, wheels, exhaust, tune) - buy (lease makes no sense)
  • You like to keep your cars for long even though you are rich (green environment conscious types, value minded etc) -- buy
  • You are a business owner/entrepreneur and get a good tax write off on a lease -- leasing makes financial sense
  • You cannot afford to buy new but would like to live rich -- lease but really you need counselling first if you lease a Lexus instead of a toyota..

i don't qualify in the lease vs buy debate since I normally buy lease returns with some remaining warranty and then get extended third party warranty depending on the make/model of car..if I decide to keep car for long..

I’m leasing a 2019 NX. I started the lease December last year when they had decent incentives. As for the interest rate, Lexus is one of the lowest in the industry. Ask for the money factor and multiply it by 2400 to get the interest rate.

We drive our cars till the wheels fall off. Just bought my wife a 19 NX FSport. Cash. No payments Long warranty on a car that rarely needs warranty work. Happy wife, happy life.

Lexus has its own reputation and reliability but Electronics/Technology is getting better year after year and expensive to be replaced when it is outside of warranty unless you have bought extended warranty (I would if I plan on keeping the car until it is RIP but not every items are covered under extended warranty). Wear and tears hardware not cheap neither.

A burnt LED headlight easy $1k. https://www.clublexus.com/forums/nx-...ed-lights.html

Power seat issue (easy $1k as well) https://www.clublexus.com/forums/nx-...on-t-work.html
