Default Any new updates since V15A8910 for 2016 NX200t?

After some research on the web, I come to the conclusion that my current Navigation version V158910 is the most up to date, based on this TSB, see attached.

To the owners of 2019 NX300, can you confirm if your Nav version is greater than V15A8910? E.g. as can be seen from the TSB, the preceding version was V15A8840.

Many thanks!

My navi in my 2015nx executive is showing version V15A8872. I presume this is in the middle of the 2 you are talking about. I have 1 month left on my factory warranty - will Lexus Canada update it for me, and would they use the most recent update of maps and such if they did? Cheers...

if I were you, I'll print out the TSB and call them to confirm you can bring your NX in for an update before warranty expires, especially if you observed some, not all the errors reported on this TSB. Or you could try to produce these errors that warrant the update.

In other words, the onus is on you to bug them, the dealer (squeaky wheels gets ...) as they don't know who are affected will not call you. And then it can be more difficult after warranty expires. The dealer at least can claim most of its time spent on your NX under Lexus Basic (or bumper to bumper in my view) warranty to cover their cost. Otherwise, they would want you to share the cost of your NX in their service bay (every minute counts).

Btw, one month left, what about mileage, less than 50K miles?

As for which version to update, AFAIK, my version is the latest, they may have a new one this Fall; a phone call to a dealer may help, but I am in no hurry, just asking this forum first.

Good luck!

Hey 16f -
thx for the reply. Good idea about bringing in TSB. I have only 29000 miles on my nx. Well 47000 km for us canucks! I asked Lexus about map update before and they said I'd have to pay for it...kinda sux. Genesis gives free lifetime on maps now I think.

I hear you! Put it this way, do you experience some or all the errors/problems described in the TSB? If you do, then I think you could have a case that they need to fix them under Basic Warranty. If you have no problems as described in the TSB, then if it ain't broke, why fix it? If so, wait for the next update, newer than mine! Mine seems to be the latest for my 2016 NX, but from my experience on a recent use, it does not recognize a street in Ottawa when I tried. Since I still have a Garmin GPS with lifetime update, I tried the same address, no joy. Then I did an online update on this Garmin just now, after that, Garmin GPS recognized this street. That prompted me to raise a question in this thread, whether someone with 2019, 2020 NX has newer version!

If you have a smart phone with GPS (we all do now, right) then Google maps does a better job anyway.
Cheers,

I will do as you say - it is logical as I do exhibit some of those problems. It would be nice if some other nx owner could chime in about the newest nav version they have. Also - has anyone updated the maps? I am surprised there is not a hack or 3rd party to do this with....

My 2016 has version V15A8940. This was updated on 10/26/2016 according to the Update History menu.

As for the question about updating maps, yes I did this last June before taking a road trip. There wasn’t any special hack or trick. I simply took it to the dealer, coughed up the $220 for the map software/license, plus one hour of labor and presto - updated maps.

In the absence of carplay/android auto isn't using your phone for navigation vastly superior to using that clunky nav in our NX's ? I have nav on my 2016 NX but always use waze or google maps nav on my phone..
Why do you even bother with paying dealer and updating those maps and stuff..

For me, I do not have data plan as I am 7 minutes to work. I heard you can download maps for offline use - will that work ok if im travelling to a 8 or 10 hr trip to the US? Just curious....

The 2016 model doesn’t support that. Our 2019 ES has dynamic nav so perhaps that is now on the 2019 NX as well - possibly what you are referring to. I believe this occurs automatically rather than through a data download. I haven’t studied this option so I can’t really speak to it intelligently.

I think it’s a matter of personal preference/opinion. I prefer the larger screen on the NX than the tiny phone screen. The 2016 doesn’t have CarPlay (or Android Auto) so fiddling with the phone while operating the vehicle would be awkward to me. I just don’t use the phone while the vehicle is in motion, beyond the Bluetooth phone connectivity. Others are comfortable using phones while driving and/or have the large phone screens.

Ugh, this is a terrible price, and what can the one hour of labor be for? It's an SD card?!?!?!
