Default Redesigned Lexus NX in 2021?

Do you think we will see a redesigned Lexus NX in 2021?

If they follow their typical product lifecycle, yes 2021 will see the new NX model. Again following their usual strategy, it will be based on the current model Rav 4, which was on a new (and improved?) platform this past year.

Yes, it has been confirmed. Next gen NX will be built in Canada in 2022, so you will see redesign new NX at the end of 2021. You should buy NX before 2021, which is made in Japan and has best quality.

No. The UX is based on the Toyota C-HR. I’m quite certain the NX is based on the Rav 4. A little too closely for my tastes but then the Rav isn’t a bad vehicle so I don’t have any major complaints. I just think they could applied more sound deadening and laminated windows to make it more like the RX but they didn’t want it to compete with the RX. This is of course speculation on my part.

Also, I don’t believe the link above doesn’t suggest that 2022 will be the redesigned model, only that Lexus will start building in Canada that year. I would still be surprised if the new model isn’t introduced in 2021.

Oooh, now there’s an interesting idea. Do you think the NX will be the first all-electric? I would almost think the UX would be a more likely choice as it’s quite a bit smaller and lighter.

Would make sense but the UX is not selling I think because of its to small size. I would think Lexus would want to make their first EV a big selling success. The price point, size and popularity of the NX makes it a strong possibility. In August, Lexus sold 5,600 NX's and 1,600 UX's. The ES has only sold a couple hundred more units then the NX in August which really surprises me.

Nobody??

There are currently seven all-electric cars just on my block including the Tesla in our garage.

I would definitely be interested in an electric NX!

Wow, that’s crazy. Especially since the UX is cheaper.

my personal opinion on the UX is it’s a hatchback Lexus IS trying to make it seem like an SUV. If they just marketed as a sedan hatchback dropped the giant unpainted cladding around the wheels, the UX would be more easily discoverable bypeople who want that kind of car.

There are lots of Tesla’s in Minneapolis. I imagine many are used for daily commuting to work.

There is also a pretty extensive charging network throughout the country.

Although I don’t currently have an electric vehicle, I have been pining for one. I would think it would be more of a local driver (within about 50 miles) rather than a road trip car, but that covers the majority of my driving needs. So yes, I would also be very interested in an electric NX.
