My navigation is stuck and it appears that the problem is the micro sd card.

Default My navigation is stuck and it appears that the problem is the micro sd card.

Hello,

As the title states I'm having a problem with my navigation/head unit. It's been stuck on the caution screen for the last week. So I've been doing my research it seems that the problem is with the micro sd card. The software or the card itself has gone bad. I was hoping to buy another micro sd card and download the software on it however from what I've read that won't work.

But just to make sure I wanted to ask the forum....

Is there a way for me to get a copy of the latest navigation software and put it on an sd card for free? Or is this a situation where I'm just going to have to pay the dealer that $200 for a new navigation software?

The SD card is coupled to your specific vehicle. I think you have to go to your dealer to have them program a new SD card for your vehicle. Just out of curiosity what happens if you remove the SD card? Does the car start? Does anything on the infotainment system work?

When I remove the sd card the system reboots endlessly. I assume it's rebooting looking for the software on the sd card.

The situation has gotten worse.

First, I went to get my brakes done and the mechanic put the car in service mode to do the job.

The system now is stuck in service mode and won't boot up at all. Everything except for the climate control in that center stack is dead...from the nav screen all the way down to the usb and cigarette lighter.

So I went to the dealer and they told me that the unit is bad and needs to be replaced to the tune of $2100.

I've been doing some research and it turns out that my system might have been bricked due to an over the air update.

Anyone know of an update that would have hit between 2/6 and 2/13? That's around the time my unit started acting funny.

If it's a software issue that "bricked" it, there SHOULD be some way to reset it. In addition, if an OTA issue caused the problem, shouldn't Lexus remedy the issue?

Yes they should fix the problem. The only thing is getting them to admit that it's the OTA that caused the problem and that they should fix it. It's hard to get these dealers to assume responsibility for anything.

In order to service the brakes why does the vehicle need to be put in "service mode"? Can you prove that an OTA update was the problem or is that just hearsay?

Did you get this fixed? My daughter's 2017 NX200T fsport. everything was working fine and we're driving down and out the blue the screen went into a rebooting loop.
Now from what im reading is for me to change the whole system at probably a couple of thousands or should i try a new SD card from the dealer.

Rear e-brake(parking brake) requires it in order to fully retract the caliper pistons when changing rear pads.

Did you resolve your navigation issue?

My navigation went out on 7/27/22. I just took it to the Arrowhead Lexus dealer and they state the Radio head has a short in it and needs to be replacecd at a cost of $3,225. I have a 2018 RX350 FSport with only 18,000 miles on it. The dealer offered me no reason as to what causes this. My car was serviced by the dealer 30 days prior to it going dead. I am not happy about this...
