Default Using iPhone on a 2017 NX200t question without Apple CarPlay

My wife is considering a 2017 NX200t but it doesn't have Apple CarPlay. Can she still listen to Pandora or Spotify from her phone? If so I guess she just won't be able to use the screen on the dash, would have to control it via her phone?? Sorry not tech savy but she is really interested in the car, only has 14,000 miles! Thanks for any help!

You'd connect the phone via Bluetooth. Then you can use the steering wheel controls to flip back and forth through the songs.

You could also buy the beatsonic module and hook it into the stereo which would give you apple car play. Lots of options but the beatsonic is a couple hundred I believe. You would not see the song title or anything on the main screen if hooked up only through Bluetooth (I think)… maybe you do? I have android and I know my phone doesn't display the song on her screen... On our Mercedes my wife's iPhone will display the song title and name on the screen but my android phone doesn't when it's connected to BT.
Someone will probably chime in with clarity on the song title for iphones.

Yes you should, I was able to listen to Spotify via Bluetooth all the time before my 2018 was upgraded with CarPlay

I can't speak out for 2017 but in 2018 model Bluetooth can display singer/song name and control the play/pause/ff/ on the steering wheel just missing the art cover. You just have to select Audio and then Bluetooth input to see the name on the display.
my friend's 2017 RX works the same.
